Medical Assistant Certified - Chesapeake Regional Healthcare : Job Details

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThese duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis by Medical Assistance. Any other duties as needed to drive to the vision fulfill the mission and abide by the values of the organization.+ Responsible for rooming patients and prepare them for examination+ Takes patients vital signs which include blood pressure, height, weight and documents in EMR+ Updates patient medical record including medications, allergies, past medical & surgical history+ Preps procedure room for minor procedure and assist with those procedures as needed.+ Prepares exam rooms for provider dependent on appointment type.+ Cleans exam room and beds after each appointment and restocks medical supplies daily.+ Assist physician and Acute Care Providers with patient examinations.+ Draws blood, perform EKG, SWAB test and any additional clinical test within clinic.+ Manages Physician orders by submitting to appropriate departments such as imagining, labs, scheduling surgeries, of referral to specialist. Confirm all orders are completed and that results have been returned.+ Obtain Prior Authorizations as needed.+ Able to check in patients, register patients, verify insurance, scan documents in patient charts, answer phones, return phone calls, and schedule appointments.+ Presents strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skillsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
