Job Description :
Primary scheduled hours - 80 hours per pay period - Day shiftJob Summary: Provides patient care in an office setting. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or physician. Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and office policies, procedures and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.Essential Job Functions:
  • Performs all aspects of patient care, within licensure, in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patients served, with assistance of medical staff.
  • Medical asepsis is carried out during all patient care.
  • Ability to position and prep patients for office procedures, as directed by an APP or Physician.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to co-workers, physicians, and office leadership.
  • Demonstrates the ability to gather chief complaints and vital signs for office visits, as directed by an APP or Physician.
  • Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family.
Education Background and ExperienceMinimum Education:Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program.Required Licensure / Certifications:Medical Assistant Certification with the State of WARequired Experience:Strong Computer Skills. Typing accuracy.Preferred Qualifications:Previous EMR experience. Knowledge of HIPAA. Proficient in taking Patient Vitals.Professional Requirements:
  • Maintain regulatory requirements
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.
