Job Description: Join our team of Life Changers!\n UPMC is hiring a Full-Time, Medical Assistant for various levels of experience to support the offices in Lititz/Lancaster. \n This is a very busy office that has 18 providers and see up to 25 patients per day. Must have healthcare knowledge to be considered for this position, those with OB/GYN experience will be given preference. \n Our office is a one stop for our patients as we complete everything here in house for them. \n This position is Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm plus working one evening shift per week\n No holidays or weekends!\n Travel is required to our office at 2125 Noll Dr., Lancaster, PA\n Manager will discuss schedule and travel more during interview. \n The salary range for this position is between $18.12-$28.39/hour.\n Job title and salary will be based on qualifications and career ladder requirements. \n Excellent benefits, a pleasant work environment, and friendly team are just a few of our perks. Apply today!\n This position qualifies for a $1500.00 sign-on bonus with 1-year work commitment!\n Responsibilities:\n\nMust be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in all practice category specific tasks.\nSend/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations.\nObtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.\nComplete forms/requisitions as needed.\nSchedule appointments.\nVerify insurance coverage and patient demographics.\nPrepare and managing charts to ensure information completed and filed appropriately.\nOther front office responsibilities, as required.\nPrepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.\nClean exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.\nManage inventory of supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms.\nCheck schedules and organizing patient flow.\nAccompany patients to exam/procedure room.\nAssist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.\nCollect patient information/history; taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines.\nRelay instructions to patients/families.\nMay provide more individualized patient/family education and supportive counseling as needed.\nAnswering calls and providing pertinent information including patient education as directed.\nUnder the direction and supervision of a physician, administer injectable medication and vaccines when appropriate.\nPerform phlebotomy, EKG's, and level one labs.\nPerform clinic procedures according to policy and procedure. .\nDocument patient information into the medical record.\nComply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).\nMaintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Comply with all UPMC Health System policies and procedures.\n Medical Assistant:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent is required. \nMust have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.\n\n Medical Assistant, Senior: \n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.\nSuccessful completion of Medical Assistant Program or equivalent hospital program (LPN/RN/EMT)\nOR successful completion of certification examination (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT or NHA)\nOR at least 1-year prior patient care experience required.\nMust be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in three practice category specific tasks\nMust have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities. \n\n Medical Assistant, Expert: \n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent is required. \nSuccessful completion of Medical Assistant program, or equivalent hospital program.\nOR Successful completion and maintenance of certification examination and 1 year of patient care experience.\nOR two years of direct patient care experience required.\nMust have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities. \nPerformance evaluation at Solid/Strong/Good rating or higher.\n\n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:\n\nCPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire\n\n Clearances must be dated within 90 days\n\nBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)\nAct 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal\nAct 33 with renewal\nAct 34 with renewal\nAct 73 FBI Clearance with renewal\n\n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
