This position will be a strong office administrative support resource to the Senior Manager of Occupational Health /Safety while also aiding in providing emergency medical response and health care attention to employees. Essential Duties of this position include but are not limited to:To render care to employees for occupational injuries and illnesses -initiate treatment based upon Assessment, knowledge, and medical directives. Must stay abreast of all current state and federal health and safety regulations. To obtain and maintain health and work histories as required by OSHA and DOT; do drug /alcohol screening of all new hires ;perform required annual hearing tests and testing of new hires To maintain a system of health records consistent with HIPAA regulations. To assist with training supervisors, management, and others on procedures for the Company's Reasonable Suspicion for Drug/Alcohol violations, Blood borne Pathogen training To work with Medical Manager on coordination of the Company Wellness Program when applicable. To monitor the transfer or return to work of an employee on restricted duty for any reason as Indicated by a physician's order and manage Workers Compensation cases by communicating with Physicians to keep costs efficientTo monitor company trends regarding health care usage and communicate ideas with Medical Manager.Qualified Candidates should possess the following qualifications: Licenses and Certifications below will be required to have or obtain within a given time period Experience One to two years related experience Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications-Word, Excel, Office and Power Point Ability to learn and utilize specific programs for the medical office Certificates & Licenses CPR/AED /First Aid Certification OR EMT certification required Will become trained as a BAT technician Will become trained as a DOT drug specimen technician Will be required to become a Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist Other Requirements: Fluent speech, writing and reading of Spanish and English a must have requirement • Regular and punctual employee presence is required for this position.• Working knowledge of HIPPA laws and able to maintain a high level of confidentiality• Knowledge of First Aid, CPR/AED, Confined Space, Blood borne Pathogens, Reasonable Suspicion for Drug and Alcohol detection• Experience maintaining all records and postings required for OSHA and Workers compensation • Strong Interpersonal, Communication, Confidentiality, Safety, Leadership and Team SkillsVPGC offers competitive wages and an extensive benefits package.
