MA's are responsible for ensuring the smooth operations in the fast paced environment of the clinic with the goal of a positive patient experience with every encounter. Medical Assistants will also perform a variety of clinical and administrative duties.This role will work in both our Heber City and Park City offices.Approximate schedule is below (may be subject to change):Monday: 8:00-5:00 in Heber CityTuesday: 8:00-5:00 in Heber City AM, Park City PMWednesday: OffThursday: 8:00-5:00 in Park CityFriday: 8:00-5:00 in Heber CityDuties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinates with clinic staff to ensure a positive patient flow, waiting room, and exam room experiencePrepares patients to be seen by physicians, collects vital signs and testing as required by the providerAssists provider with collection, documentation, processing, and verification of information related to patient care in EMR systemMonitor, clean and sanitize assigned patient examination rooms, unit areas and unit equipment; reports outdated supplies, stock levels and restock set levels of items and necessary equipment repairsAssists in routine clerical functions such as filing of medical information in patient's records, locating and compiling department charts, and obtains necessary medical records from other providersPerforms diagnostic tests and processes and enters resultsCommunicates patient concerns and needs to the healthcare providerProvides timely response to patient inquiries and timely completion of assigned tasksDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively on the phone, in writing and via email, as well as ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential mattersAssists physicians in preparing for minor surgeriesAssists with scheduling of tests and treatmentsApply dressing, bandages, and splints as ordered by podiatristMaintain a sanitized and safe working environmentMaintain HIPAAPerform other duties as assigned by practice managerCritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervisionStrong computer skills and use of Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a woundStrong communication skills and ability to actively listenKnowledge of medical terminology and anatomyStrong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office dutiesCustomer services skillsKnowledge of safety and sanitation proceduresRequirements:Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or EquivalentCurrent American Heart Association CPR CertificationCertification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of trainingEMR experience is a plusPreferred QualificationsNational Medical Assistant CertificationSuccessful completion of a medical assisting externshipOne or more years experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare settingOne or more years of demonstrated customer service experienceExperience working with an EMR systemExperience as a medical scribeCPR CertificationX-ray certificationPHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORSThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
