Job Title: Medical Assistant (Cardiology)Location: Saint Louis, MODuration: Temp-to-Hire, 3 monthsOverview:Seeking an experienced Medical Assistant (MA) with cardiology and EKG experience for a clinic setting. The MA will be responsible for taking vitals, updating medications, and interacting with patients directly. Onboarding will include HIPAA and medical terminology training.Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and verify medications.
• Prepare for office hours by scheduling tests, obtaining charts, and preparing exam rooms.
• Assist with exams, procedures, lab tests, and renew/authorize non-narcotic medications.
• Administer medications under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner.
• Manage patient flow and assist with special procedures.
• Route patient phone messages to appropriate personnel and coordinate patient care.
• Maintain and document accurate patient records.
• Clean and stock exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and monitor supply inventory.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Experience in a cardiology setting and EKG performance.
• MA certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and electronic medical records.

Education & Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program required.
• Must obtain MA credentials from in-person proctored exams through NHA, AAMA, or AMT.
• BLS certification (Online BLS without skills assessment is not accepted).
