Role Summary: The Driver will transport products promptly to our customers and business partners. They will provide Southern Crop with a professional, safe, and cost-effective approach to enhance our profitability and customer satisfaction. Drivers may also be asked to assist other departments as necessary.Key Duties and Responsibilities: The following list of duties is not intended to be restrictive or all-inclusive. - The Driver will transport products between Southern Crop's Processing and Cultivation center to various locations throughout the state of MS.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles securely at the destination; confirm accuracy of transportation manifests, and ensure all appropriate signatures are obtained as per MDOH regulations.
- Follow the route and time schedules.
- Maintain professional communication with customers to relay arrival times and status updates.
- Present themselves in a professional and helpful manner.
- Take care of, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle.
- Ask for feedback on the services provided and resolve customer complaints.
- Complete logs and reports as necessary.
- Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Able to communicate effectively across the organization to gain insight on changing effects to forecasts.
- Maintain a sense of urgency, safely meeting all deadlines.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule by assisting in other departments when needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven working experience as a Driver, with at least 5 years' experience in commercial delivery.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- CDL and/or equipment license is strongly preferred.
- Ability to drive in a range of weather and traffic conditions.
- Possess the ability to engage with personnel, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
- Maintain a calm demeanor in high stress environments.
- Ability to work independently and with others in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong mathematical knowledge.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:
- Mississippi Driver's License.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal and company regulations for working in the medical cannabis industry.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet, and push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
- Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
- Must be capable of handling organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, and fall protection).
- Must possess visual acuity with/without job assistance to perform activities such as: reading, viewing a computer terminal, and visual inspection involving small parts/details.
- Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with colleagues, vendors, etc.
Work Schedule: 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs.
