Medical Collector - Medix : Job Details

Medix is currently hiring Medical Collectors with a healthcare management company. This position will be onsite at their Bellaire, Tx location for the first 30 days before moving to remote. Equipment will be provided!Job Summary:The Medical Insurance Collector will manage collection activities on complex denials and handle appeals for outstanding balances with major insurance providers (BCBS, UHC, Aetna/Cigna, and self-funded/commercial plans) in an out-of-network professional/facility fee setting. This role requires strong knowledge of medical insurance policies, effective communication skills for interacting with insurance companies and customers, and the ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and manage time efficiently.Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical collections
• Strong understanding of commercial and self-funded insurance providers (e.g., BCBS, UHC, Aetna/Cigna)
• Proficiency with EOBs, HIPAA, ICD-10 codes, and CPT codes
• Ability to work effectively from home after the initial remote transition
