Locations: Covelo, CAType:TribalSalary Range:$260,000 to $300,000 / Per YearOpen Period:2/1/2024 until filledSummary:The Round Valley Indian Health Center is a non-profit corporation established in 1968, designed to offer health care to the people of our community. The Health Center is located in Covelo, a remote valley community in Northern Mendocino County, 25 miles east of Highway 101 and an additional 15 miles from the nearest hospital and emergency services in Willits, California. The Round Valley Indian Health Center provides primary health care to approximately 3,000 people living in Covelo and the adjacent Round Valley Indian Reservation. The Reservation was established in 1856 and is the ancestral homeland of seven Indian Tribes. The Health Center staff is dedicated not only to treatment, prevention, and patient education but also recognizes traditional Indian Medicine and holistic healing. Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, including regularly scheduled meetings, clinical audits and peer reviews; to be monitored by the Executive Director and jointly reported to the Board. Demonstrate and utilize the highest standards of medical ethics at all times. Provides leadership within the clinic, working in conjuntion with the Executive Director. Demonstrates leadership within the medical team. Assists in the provision of continuing education, on-the-job training, and the orientation of community health center staff as requested. Supervises, advises, counsels and disciplines all medical department professional providers in conjunction with the Human Resources department. Approves leave status for medical department professional provider staff. Participates in recruitment/retention activities for medical staff as necessary. Participates in interviews of medical provider staff. Participates in short and long term program planning for the medical department and the agency, including development of goals and objectives. Participates in the development of medical budget, including staffing, support plan and equipment needs projection with on-going monitoring and evaluation. Travels when necessary to fulfill the clinic needs and attends meetings as necessary to represent the organization and/or the medical department. Participates in the development of the organizational plan for medical operations, providing for efficient use of personnel. Attends Staff and Health Board meetings and participate Medical Staff Committees as scheduled. Obtains appropriate consultation when problems presented are outside the scope of practice or when unfamiliar with a particular aspect of patient care and utilize available current references and resources. Participate in the development of medical department policies and procedures in accordance with company saftey policies, accreditation requirements and professional standards. Knowledge of principles/practices of medicine. Knowledge of the rules, regulations and procedures of an Indian Health Clinic or willingness to learn. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative, fellow peers, and other work related outside agencies.Qualifications:1. Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy Degree 2. Current California Medical License, or ability to work towards obtaining California License 3. Current NPI number for Medicare billing 4. Current Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate to Prescribe 5. Board Eligible/Board Ce1tified in a Primary Care Specialty, (Family Practice, Pediatrics, or Internal Medicine) desirable. 6. Two years' experience in outpatient medicine post residency is desirable. 7. Current Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation certification. 8. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is desirable, with Neonatal Resuscitation, Advanced Life Supp01t in Obstetrics, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support recommended. 9. In good Physical and emotional health to practice in a busy clinical environment. I0. Current California Driver's License with proof of insurance. 11. Pre-employment urine drug screen required. 12. Management experience in the medical health field. 13. Ability to work as part of a team with a variety of Health care professionals, including Medical Doctors, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists, in a multicultural setting. 14. Must comply with HIPPA laws and regulations. 15. Must adhere to the RVIHC Personnel Policies and Procedures. 16.
