Medical Editor
Salary: $70K - $90K
**NYC Hybrid Requirement: This role requires 1 day in the office per week**
The Editor is responsible for executing core editorial functions in a pharmaceutical advertising
agency, including copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking for Consumer and HCP print and
digital tactics, in this fast-paced, deadline-oriented role. This role will report to the Associate Director of Editorial.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking promotional marketing material, adhering to AMA and brand styles.
- Supports editorial team across brands and pharma clients, including high-science accounts.
- Interacts with Project Managers, Creatives, and Account members for efficient clarification and resolution of queries.
- Assists in updating Editorial Style Guides for accounts.
- Ensures that regulatory submissions conform to FDA guidelines.
- Assists with Editorial projects outside of regular workload, as needed.
- Flexibility to work late as needed, as well as assist during product launches.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and possess a high level of proficiency in grammar skills.
- Strong working knowledge of AMA 11 guidelines and medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills and independent problem-solving ability.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and assignments daily.
- High level of digital competency with computer-related technologies and applications; Ziflow electronic routing experience is a plus.
- Thorough understanding of ad agency process.
- Proficiency with FDA compliance mandates for pharmaceutical marketing promotions.
- Familiarity with a variety of product categories and therapeutic classes, with experience in oncology and diabetes desired.
- Prior launch experience is a plus.
EXPERIENCE
2+ years of editorial experience as an Editor in a pharmaceutical advertising agency environment.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree required.
