This Medical Office Specailist opportunity is full time , offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. Responsible for overall functioning of the medical office, which includes patient scheduling check in and check out, insurance authorizations, medical records and supply management. This position requires the ability to multi-task and perform in a fast pace environment.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a cordial and courteous relationship with patients. Always greets patients with a smile. Functions as “Director of First Impressions
  • Answers phone calls and routes to appropriate party. Always informs patient they are going to go to voice mail. Take accurate, complete written messages as required.
  • Schedule, cancel and reschedule patient visits based on established guidelines.
  • Confirm patient appointments daily for next day.
  • Assists providers to stay on schedule. Alerts patients of delays.
  • In a firm, but pleasant manner makes sure that patient is aware of their financial responsibility regarding their co-pay, balance due or any deductible they may have. When possibly informs the patient that payment is expected at the time of appointment. If necessary, appointment is rescheduled until patient can make payment.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Knowledge of medical clinic functions (scheduling, billing, insurance verifications and authorizations, ICD9 and CPT4 coding, patient procedures, medical records, etc.) required.
