Vantage Health positions community physicians to provide local, individualized, and compassionate care to patients at nine locations in New York City. We are growing! We have immediate openings for Full Time and Part Time Medical Oncologists in Queens, NY.
Responsibilities:
Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills
Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
Accepts patient referrals from other physicians
Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner
Participates in outpatient consultations for specialty
Qualifications Education:
Medical Degree (MD) from an accredited program.
Experience:
Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience in a multidisciplinary cancer program in a teaching hospital.
Knowledge and Skills:
Must have prior leadership or supervisory experience.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to coach and counsel employees in the performance of their assignments and ensure staff are informed of the policies and procedures for their assignments.
Ability to fully utilize Vantage's electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
Licenses/Certifications:
MD License to practice medicine in New York State.
Board Certification in medical oncology.
Physical Requirements:
Consistent with that necessary to work in a variety of patient care and office settings.
Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
