Position: Medical Payment Specialist Location: Alcoa, TN 37701Employment Type: Full time- Contract to HirePay: 15.70/hourJob Overview As a Medical Depository Representative, you'll play a critical role in processing incoming payments for healthcare organizations. This position involves the secure handling, organization, and accurate data entry of medical lockbox deposits. It is ideal for someone detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive financial information. Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, sort, and organize incoming medical lockbox payments.
  • Verify the accuracy of payment details (e.g., patient account numbers, amounts).
  • Ensure payments are correctly logged and allocated using software systems.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines and service-level agreements.
  • Assist with scanning, filing, and preparing deposits for bank submission.
  • Communicate with internal teams to resolve payment discrepancies.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in medical payment processing, banking, data entry, or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
