- Provides front-office assistance. Provide telephone coverage, greet patients and schedule appointments. Other duties as assigned.
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
- Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed
- Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
- Performs x-rays (based on certification), electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
- Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests.
- Register patients in all required information systems.
- Schedules appointments, receives money for bills, keeps x-ray and other medical records, performs secretarial tasks, and completes insurance forms.
- Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
- Maintain all required clinic logs.
- Responsible for completing all prior authorizations.
- Utilizes back office equipment such as but not limited to bladder scanner, flow rate machine, urine dip reader, clinitek, ultrasound/biopsy machine, light sources, cytoscopes.
- Sets up Sterile Instruments; ex: Vasectomy Trays
- Insertion and removal of catheters.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bilingual preferred QualificationsEducation and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Other Skills and AbilitiesAbility to speak fluent Spanish preferred
