Location Description: Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. Position Summary: Processes admission and discharge records for inpatients, outpatients and Emergency Room visits. Facilitates timely completion of records and processes release of information, birth records as directed. Assists with the suspension process from the EPF system. Performs analysis of daily discharge records for inatpatients and outpatients. Prepares charts for scanning and participates in the scanning and indexing of records for inpatients, outpatients and Emergency Room visits. Processes transcribed reports from dictation system. Resolves duplicate medical records.
Knowledge & Skills:Required Training/Education/Experience/Certification:
- High School or Equivalent
Computer experience preferred. Basic knowledge of medical record functions preferred. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are necessary. Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
