Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in healthcare administration, medical staff services, or continuing medical education coordination. Strong organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Familiarity with credentialing software is preferred. Candidates should possess problem-solving skills, decision-making abilities, and knowledge of medical terminology. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment in handling sensitive information, ensuring discretion and reliability in all interactions.Preferred: Certification by National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS).Essential Job Functions:Credentialing and Privileging:
  • Initiates, administers, and analyzes confidential research required for medical staff credentialing processes, including processing initial applications, reappointments, and verifying provider qualifications per Medical Staff Bylaws. Ensure timely, accurate record-keeping for credentials, licenses, and certifications.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the credentialing and privileging database (e.g., MD-Staff).
  • Assist with coordination of new provider onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes.
Medical Staff Committee Support:
  • Coordinate Medical Staff committee meetings, including preparation, distribution, and documentation of agendas, packets, and minutes.
  • Advise Medical Staff leadership on compliance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Medical Staff Services Office, responding to inquiries and maintaining organized files.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) Coordination:
  • Provide backup support for the planning and execution of CME activities, including coordination with stakeholders, managing logistics, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, in collaboration with the accredited CME provider (e.g., OHSU). Maintain records and assist with reporting as needed.
