Position Overview:
Pride Health is seeking an experienced Med-Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our team at Rochester, New York. This contract position is perfect for a dedicated professional with expertise in Med-Surg and Telemetry nursing. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, focusing on both general medical-surgical care and the monitoring of patients' cardiac rhythms and respiratory needs. Nurses will also float between like units as needed, including Med-Surg, ICU, and ED, ensuring continuous and comprehensive patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Patient Assessment: Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients, monitoring vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and respiratory status.
- Care Planning: Develop individualized care plans based on assessment data, focusing on both medical and telemetry care needs, including the management of chronic ventilator patients, BIPAP, and high-flow oxygen.
- Implementation of Care: Administer medications, interventions, and therapies in alignment with care plans, including telemetry monitoring and respiratory management.
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients for changes in status, particularly with regard to cardiac rhythms and pulmonary function, and report findings to the healthcare team.
- Floating to Like Units: Float to like units as necessary, including ICU or ED, to provide support and care for Med-Surg level patients as directed.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Must have a current State Registered Nurse License.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year (preferably 2 years) of Med-Surg and Telemetry experience. Experience with pulmonary care (ventilators, BIPAP, high-flow oxygen) is preferred.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. Additional certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) are a plus but not mandatory.
