Job DescriptionPosition Purpose: Responsible for preparation of medium for IVF and sexed semen labs.Key Responsibilities:
- Ordering chemicals and disposables for medium preparation.
- Communication with all the IVF and SS labs and clients for medium requests.
- Planning for medium preparation.
- Preparation of the media and their stocks.
- Medium packing and shipping to remote centers.
- Scheduling medium testing with the QC lab.
- Assisting the Sterilization lab when needed.
- Record keeping/Data Entry.
- Maintains good laboratory technique and follows lab protocol.
- Follows Trans Ova's policies and procedures.
- Maintains a professional image reflective of Trans Ova's industry position.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education Requirements:B.S. in Animal Science, Biology, Chemistry or Experience in related area.Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:Ability to work under a laminar flow hood using proper aseptic technique.Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.Sitting or standing for long periods of time.Flexibility to work extended hours with little notice.Other skills/experience:Prior hands-on experience in medium preparation preferred.Good hand to eye coordinationStrong attention to detailMechanically inclinedGreat Calculation skills with weights and measuresStrong understanding of contamination and sterilityAbout UsTrans Ova Genetics, a member of the URUS Group, provides industry-leading reproductive technologies and expertise to cattle breeders through a unique professional services team that works closely with clients to understand their breeding goals and ultimately help clients advance and extend superior genetics.
