PROGRAM SUMMARY:

The Diplomatic Platform Support Services (DiPSS) works in support of the Department of State to provide medical support services. The primary scope of this program is to execute medical support services at the United States Embassy and adjacent facilities in the Middle East.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Administrative Assistant responsibilities may be unique to a specific function or department such as Procurement or Engineering, but are mainly administrative in nature.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide administrative or secretarial support to a department and/or Manager.

* Typical duties include general clerical, receptionist and project based work. Under fairly close supervision, works to complete defined tasks in accordance with standard procedures requiring some knowledge of general office procedures.

* Supports general business operations by providing simply administrative support activities.

* Basic oral and written communication skills are required. The skills acquired for this job are typically acquired through a high school diploma and 2+ years of experience.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

* Use of Land Mobile Radios, cell phones, laptop, and other devices to maintain contact and accountability of work activities.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

* Physical requirements include lifting up to 35lb, team lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting, or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending.

* Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as, hearing and eye protection,

* Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs. frequently, etc.

* Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

* The skills acquired for this job are typically acquired through a high school diploma and 2+ years of experience.

* Must be medically fit and willing to travel CONUS and OCONUS

* Must be able to lift 50lbs

* Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current U. S. Driver's License.

* Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 13 months of remaining validity AND 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining

* Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently

* Candidates must also meet CENTCOM MOD (Fit for Duty) theater requirements.
