About the Team At Nutanix, you'll be joining the Nutanix Files team, Nutanix Files is a software-defined scale-out file storage solution. It improves storage services by providing high availability, massive scale, simplified self-service management, self-tuning and self-healing. Unlike other NAS solutions it can be deployed stand alone or as part of your Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS. With a geo-dispersed team size, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from diverse locations, fostering a dynamic and innovative team culture that encourages sharing ideas and working together to achieve common goals. You will report to the Staff Engineer, a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in the industry who will provide guidance and support as you navigate your role within the team. The work setup at Nutanix for this position is hybrid, with the expectation that you will come into the office 2-3 days a week to engage in valuable in-person collaboration and foster team bonding. Your Role
  • Build distributed Data or Control Path software for a converged computing/storage platform in private or public cloud environments.
  • Optimize software for high performance and scale
  • Develop a keen understanding of complex distributed systems, and design creative solutions for customer requirements.
  • Work on performance, scaling out and resiliency features in the software.
  • Work closely with development, test, documentation and product management teams to deliver high-quality products.
What You Will Bring
  • 3-7 years of hands-on experience working in a distributed software
  • Love of programming and rock-solid in one or more languages: C, C++, python, golang
  • Understanding of UNIX/Linux
  • Development experience in file systems, operating systems, distributed systems management or cloud technologies
  • Familiarity with OS internals, concepts of distributed data management, and design/implementation trade-offs in building clustered, high- performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems software
  • Familiarity with x86 architecture, virtualization and/or storage management
  • A strong development experience in building manageability software using REST APIs, backend using modern UI frameworks will be considered in the absence of deeper systems skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required. Advanced degree in related field preferred
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 136,800 and USD $ 273,600 per year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an at-will position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
