Located in Lincolnshire, Illinois, CCS is seeking a full-time Member Services Associate who can contribute to the success of our member libraries and foster strong relationships within the library community.

WHO WE ARE: CCS is a vibrant library consortium that serves public libraries across the north and northwest suburbs of Chicago that share a database for circulation, acquisitions, cataloging, interlibrary loan, and an online public access catalog. WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Pay range between $47,500 to $59,000

WHAT YOUR ROLE IS: This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our member libraries and foster strong relationships within the library community. In this role, you will:

  • Conduct Virtual and In-Person Training: Lead engaging training sessions covering all aspects of the Polaris ILS, from circulation to cataloging.
  • Provide Technical Support: Assist member libraries, ensuring the ILS is running smoothly and efficiently. Maintain quality of database by completing database and metadata cleanup and enrichment projects as assigned. Assist with loading, editing, and deleting database records, working with third party vendors as needed.
  • Develop Online Training Materials: Create and maintain online training materials, including website content and courses, to provide member library staff with up-to-date and accessible resources.
  • Build Relationships: Foster relationships with member library staff through networking meetings and on-site visits, understanding their unique needs and challenges.

WHAT WE REQUIRE:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in library or information science, education, or another relevant field required
  • 2 years of relevant experience working with public libraries preferred
  • Experience with or knowledge of technical services practices preferred
  • Experience with integrated library systems preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with producing and presenting training materials required
