Membership Gym Attendant - YMCA : Job Details

GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Membership Director, the Gym Attendant/Monitor is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the basketball multipurpose gym facility. Their duties typically encompass a wide range of tasks aimed at maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for gym members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Greets gym members and provides assistance with general inquiries.

2. Offers support to members regarding basketball gym equipment usage and other services.

3. Ensures that the basketball gym is clean, tidy, and organized at all times. This includes cleaning/sweeping floors.

4. Checks and maintains gym equipment to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any issues to maintenance or management.

5. Enforces policies such as: No food or drinks, only water.

6. Performs Wristband checks, and enforces wristband policies.

ABUSE RISK MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS:

1. Adheres to policies related to boundaries with children.

2. Attends required abuse risk management training.

3. Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.

4. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.

5. Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

Qualifications

1. Highschool diploma or GED, or in progress

2. Customer service experience preferred

3. Within 30 days of hire, completion of CPR/ First Aid for Professional Rescuers Certification
