Position Summary: The Membership & Marketing Assistant is the primary lead in growing and retaining membership by promoting the value of joining the organization and building strong relationships with existing members to support retention efforts. This position is responsible for recruiting new members, securing sponsorships, and encouraging participation at all Chamber events. Other responsibilities include creating effective marketing collateral to promote the Chamber, members, programs, and events. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, personable, articulate with excellent verbal communication, computer and writing skills. Our members are the lifeblood of our organization, requiring a team player with the ability to relate to and understand the needs of members and businesses of all sizes. As a high-functioning business and community organization, this position must be comfortable in both large and small group settings, yet also effective on a one-on-one basis.Key Tasks & Responsibilities:Membership Recruitment & RetentionMembership Onboarding & CommunicationsMembership Engagement Programs & EventsMembership Support Services & PromotionsCommunity Engagement, Marketing, & Public InformationEssential Functions:Works to recruit new members and retain existing members through effective communication, including personal interaction, that introduces businesses/organizations to the value of joining the Chamber and providing resources to support existing member's needs.Manages onboarding of new members and ensures all members receive access to membership benefits and opportunities associated with membership. Includes tracking and scheduling of deliverables (Ex: E-blast Welcome, Website Content, Member Spotlight, Social Media posts, etc.) and administrative upkeep of membership files.Works collaboratively with Executive Director, Board Members, and Staff to create and develop marketing and communication strategies, advertising promotions, printed materials, marketing collateral, and publicity pieces that will effectively promote the benefits of the Chamber for the execution of membership recruitment and retention tasks.Creates marketing collateral to help promote the Chamber, members, events, and secure sponsorships to encourage participation and engagement in Chamber activities among members at all levels.Assists in the organization and implementation of Chamber programs and events to support Chamber's goals to maximize revenue, profit, attendance, engagement, and community involvement.Maintains the Chamber's social media platforms and website to promote members, programs, events, activities, meetings of the Chamber, etc.Serves as staff liaison to the Ambassador program; recruits Chamber Ambassadors, prepares monthly Agenda/Minutes, coordinates volunteer support, and reports information to Executive Director and Chamber staff, as needed.Represents the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce at events, meetings, training sessions, committees, etc., as needed.Performs some receptionist duties including responding to inquiries from the public, existing/prospective members, government officials, and other community partners as needed, in a professional and courteous manner.Attends and assists staff at Chamber events such as networking meetings and other major events. Some extended working hours are required such as occasional evenings, early mornings, and weekends.Supports the mission, vision, and core values of the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce.Assists the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Committee Chairs, and all other volunteers, to achieve the goals and objectives set forth by the organization.Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.Qualifications:High school diploma. Some college or college degree preferred.2+ years customer service and/or sales experience.Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint), Video Conferencing programs (Zoom, Microsoft Teams), and CRM software programs.Experience in responsible social media management, website maintenance, and digital marketing.Creativity and experience using graphic design programs such as Canva or Adobe (Photoshop, InDesign), etc.Experience working with business professionals, volunteer committees.Knowledge of the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce and/or non-profit/membership organization preferred.Strong community ties and knowledge of the Enterprise and the Enterprise area.Outstanding customer service, team-building, and interpersonal skills.Ability to demonstrate a high-level of creativity and strong problem-solving skills.Requirements:Professional communication skills and a positive attitude are required for all verbal communications, including but not limited to: phone calls, in-person meetings, and public events; as well as written and electronic correspondence.Ability to quickly learn new technology and software applications.A demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage numerous projects simultaneously.Must be a team player with a demonstrated ability to interact and work well with others including Chamber staff, current Chamber members, prospective members, local and state officials, and community.Ability to work well under pressure and successfully meet deadlines.Must be dependable, reliable, and responsive to the needs of the organization and its members.Must be customer service focused.Strong time-management and organizational skills.
