A successful candidate in this role will be comfortable and confident in serving as an ambassador providing outstanding guest services to current and prospective Zoo members. This position is a customer service focus where you are expected to promote memberships through sharing knowledge about the benefits of a membership and how it supports both patron and Zoo mission/vision. - Answer member questions and assist members with questions, comments and concerns.
- Update and make changes to member accounts.
- Maintains customer service standards according to established guidelines.
- Provides exceptional internal and external customer service.
- Greet and interact with members through the zoo to obtain feedback of their visit and overall membership experience
- Collects cash or other payment from guests, determining amount due and change required and records payments, balances register while working in the member services window.
- Performs routine accounting and money handling tasks related to receiving, recording and depositing customer payments and fees.
- Sell memberships to the general public as part of a rotation of each station within department as needed
- Operates computer and other office equipment in an efficient and effective manner, verifies vouchers, forms and documents for computational errors.
- Assist the Membership department with special events as requested.
- Must be available to work numerous weekends and holidays.
Experience/Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in and customer service within a high-volume operation with heavy customer contact is desired
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidential information
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload
- Advanced computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
- Proficient in speaking Spanish preferred, but not required
