Salary for a Memory Care Aide (CNA): $23/Hr

Qualifications for a Memory Care Aide (CNA):

  • A kind and compassionate approach with a passion for elderly populations, especially dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
  • A positive attitude, team player spirit and love working with people!
  • Dedicated and passionate about providing excellent care to residents
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures
  • Experience working with patients in hospice care, memory care, or those with developmental disabilities is a plus
  • Ability to lift and move patients safely
  • A current CNA certification and experienced background in - Geriatric Healthcare, Memory Care, Dementia trained, Hospitality, Nursing, Caregiver, Certified Home Health Aide, or Certified Nursing Assistant

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Use your compassion to provide warm, engaging personal care services, support and companionship to nursing home residents with dementia.
  • Engage and assist residents with individual activities of daily living and personalized recreational activity interests.
  • Look for changes in residents' day and personal care needs and communicate such to Recreation and nursing staff to update their personal Resident Care Plan.
  • Encourage resident participation in community programs and activities by engaging them in programs.
  • Lead and engage in light activity groups in the common area to combat “sundowning” behaviors, under supervision of the Recreation Director and staff.
  • Provide direct patient care, including assisting with daily activities such as toileting, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for the patient
  • Shift:

    Full time: 12pm-8pm with rotating weekends
