Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Mental Health Discipline: Therapy Duration: Ongoing Employment Type: Staff Additional Information About the Role Up to a $2300 Sign On Bonus Shift information: 8 am – 5 pm (Monday - Friday) but with the possibility of some after hour appointments as needed based on client demand Types of clients: Therapist will work with a mix of both Adults and Youth Team dynamic: The Therapy department is currently made up of 24 Therapists, a Therapy Supervisor, a Scheduler, and a Therapy Manager Location: North County Facility - Graham Road in Florissant, MO. Hybrid Work Schedule: 2 days remote telehealth and 3 days in the Facility Ideal Skill Set: Therapy experience and trained in an evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, etc. MUST HAVE Compassion for working with both Youth and Adults to help them better their life, flexible, able to document timely, ability to adapt to change, willing to work in a team setting Job responsibilities: This position will provide Therapy to both Adults and Youth and the severity of issues clients have will vary in type and acuity Must be Fully or Provisionally licensed in MO. (LPC/PLPC or LMSW/LCSW) only Overview BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. François, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Behavioral Health Therapist works with individuals, families, and groups to address and treat mental & emotional disorders, and to promote optimal mental health. Responsibilities Provides individual, and in some cases, family therapy to active clients. Updates the treatment plan to reflect therapy goals. Collaborates with other professionals regarding client participation level, progress, and setbacks. Completes intakes for individuals requesting services at BJC, assessing their eligibility based on symptomology, treatment history, and current needs. Develops and facilitates education for clients.
