Mental Health Clinician Amarillo 39140BR Position Description This a responsible professional position with limited administrative and supervisory duties at the unit level. Specific dutiesinclude testing, psychological evaluation and diagnostic services as well as counseling assigned patient caseload. This position functions under the supervision of a higher level licensed psychologist, but the individual has full professional responsibility for higher actions and advice. Major/Essential Functions
- Inmate risk management
- Detection of severe mental illness in all inmate interaction
- General inmate management of severely mentally ill and at risk inmates
- Process referrals to the medical and mental health providers
- Completes referrals to crisis management
- Correct and thorough completion of all types of clinical interviews. Completes all daily documentation by the close of business each day.
- Notify security of IPI and inmate threats toward others as instructed by the Safe Prisons Plan.
- Processes cancellations of referrals to BHFs
- Assessments written based upon balanced clinical judgement
- Effectively prioritizing job duties while maintaining risk management as a priority. Maintains monthly productivity numbers as set by Behavioral Health Management Team.
- Follows all TDCJ Health Services, ACA, TTUHSC policies and procedures and Outpatient Behavioral Health guidelines.
- Professional growth, development, and utilization of supervision
- Professionally complete other unit specific tasks, including suicide prevention screener and mental health chain in reminders.
- Performs a various to be determined and assigned by the Regional Manager, Senior Director, Direct Supervisor, or designees.
- Conducts telehealth in clinics as assigned
- Ensures all inmate reminders are accurate and complete
