Mental Health Clinician - PRIDE Health : Job Details

Pride Health is excited to announce an opening for a Mental Health Clinician to support our client's healthcare system at Riker's Prison. This is a 13-week contract assignment with a high possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent role!

📍 Location: East Elmhurst, NY (Rikers Island)

⏳ Contract Duration: 13 weeks (strong potential for extension)

🕒 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4 PM to 12 AM

💰 Pay Rate: $55 - $60/hour

🔍 Role Overview:

Join a team dedicated to providing compassionate mental health care in a unique and challenging environment. As a Mental Health Clinician, you'll play a vital role in assessing, treating, and supporting the mental well-being of incarcerated individuals with complex behavioral and mental health needs.

📌 Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct mental health evaluations, crisis interventions, and comprehensive assessments.
• Provide follow-up care and coordinate treatment plans for patients.
• Lead group therapy sessions and participate in clinical rounds and case conferences.
• Collaborate with Reentry Social Workers for effective discharge planning.
• Ensure proper documentation and contribute to statistical reporting.
• Work closely with the Department of Correction to facilitate access and care continuity.

✅ Requirements:

• Minimum Degree Required: Master's in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Certification/License: New York State licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or licensure in Psychology.
• Preferred Experience:
• Working with adults experiencing severe mental illness, substance use disorders, and behavioral challenges.
• Inpatient or correctional mental health experience is a strong advantage.
