**Mental Health Therapist****Job Details****Job Location**MCFI Main Campus - Milwaukee, WI**Position Type**Full Time**Education Level**Master's Degree**Travel Percentage**Minimal; Less than 10%**Job Shift**1st Shift**Job Category**Professional Services**Description****Job Purpose:**Under the direction of the Psychotherapy Coordinator, this position provides psychotherapeutic clinical interventions to adults with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, medical disorders, or a combination of those conditions. Common activities include the 1) initial assessment and ongoing assessment of the client's condition, including risk assessment, 2) development and ongoing review of the treatment plan, 3) provision of direct services and referrals based upon the individualized needs of the client, 4) completion of progress notes and any other documentation, and 5) end of service requirements. The basic objectives of the psychotherapist are to 1) reduce psychiatric symptoms, and 2) reduce the frequency and duration of in-patient hospitalizations, 3) promote recovery, and 4) enhance community living tenure and functioning.**_Reporting Relationships_****Reports To** : Psychotherapy Coordinator - WHCG**Direct Reports** : No**Essential Job Functions:**_Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions._1. Provide effective psychotherapeutic clinical interventions to adults with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, medical disorders or a combination of those conditions utilizing best practices and evidence based psychotherapeutic research.2. Conduct initial assessment and ongoing assessment, including risk assessment, develop and review the treatment plan, provides direct services and referrals based upon the individualized needs of the client, completes all documentation, and service requirements in a timely manner.3. Collaborate effectively with internal and external referents and care systems to facilitate referrals and to maximize client outcomes.4. Maintain a 75% or better productivity for billable services on a monthly basis.5. Write effective treatment plans, monitor progress and document Outcomes. Continually assess client risk and act accordingly.6. Participate in supervision, clinical collaboration and clinical consultation.7. Maintain a thorough case file or client record by documenting services in a timely manner.8. Continually seek to improve knowledge base and skill development to maximize client outcomes by attending in-service training and conferences.9. Complete necessary paperwork for insurance billing.10. Comply with Federal law, WI law c.51. and administrative regulations, community mental health (DHS 35), clients rights (DHS 94) and confidentiality (DHS 92) regulations, and agency policy and procedures.11. Valid driver license with reliable transportation and vehicle insurance that meets agency standards**Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials:**Meet or exceed the requirements of DHS 35**Minimum Required Education:** Master's degree in social work, clinical psychology or a degree in a specified related field.**Minimum Required Experience:**Educational background must meet or exceed the requirements of DHS 35**Required License/Certification/Registration** :Issued By Governing Body: WisconsinWisconsin State license as an Advance Practice Social Worker, LPC-IT, LPC, or LCSW.**Travel outside of office** _(More Than 10%):_**Required Auto Insurance and Valid Driver's License:**Valid driver license with reliable transportation and vehicle insurance that meets agency standards**Knowledge - Skills - Abilities:**1. Experience working with severe and persistent mental illness, preferred.2. Commitment to best practice standards of community care and recovery principles.3. Broad knowledge of psychopathology, normal development, and psychotherapeutic interventions.4. Awareness of personal, cultural, educational, and environmental aspects of community living for individuals with mental illness, developmental disability, substance abuse, medical ailments and the co-occurring possibilities of those conditions.5. Knowledge of community mental health systems, community resources, WI law and administrative regulations, civil commitment, guardianship, and other applicable WI statutes.6. Knowledge to use work related equipment and applications such as cell phone and texting, computers, photo copier, Microsoft Office, and Teams.7. Valid driver license with reliable transportation and vehicle insurance that meets agency standards**Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:**Physical Requirements: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal.
