Openings as of 8/8/2024 School-Based Mental Health Therapist - District JobID: 5525 Position Type: Student Support Services/Social Worker Date Posted: 8/7/2024 Location: District Date Available: 2024/25 SY Closing Date: 08/13/2024 Who We Are: The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a School-Based Mental Health Therapist to provide mental health consultation and crisis intervention services (including lethality screens) for students experiencing mental health concerns for the 2024-25 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. As a School-Based Mental Health Therapist you are required to: Master's Degree and Valid license through the Ohio CSWMFT Board (LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC) Appropriate State of Ohio Mental Health Training as governed by Ohio law Preferred Qualification: Experience/training in provision of initial therapeutic assessments, individual and family psychotherapy, and development appropriate treatment plans. Experience with a multi-tiered system of support Valid Ohio administrative license or certificate appropriate for the assignment As a School-Based Mental Health Therapist to promote workplace safety, employees are expected to exercise caution and comply with district procedures to reduce exposure to the following situations: Duties that require operating and/or riding in a vehicle Duties that require traveling to meetings and work assignments Duties that require working 5 total extended days before and after the school year Exposure to adverse weather conditions and seasonal temperature extremes Exposure to blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases Interactions with aggressive, disruptive, and /or unruly individuals Promote personal growth and well being for students, school personnel, and parents through consultation, counseling, inservice, and related activities. Provides initial therapeutic assessments, individual and family psychotherapy, and develops appropriate treatment plans for the most chronic students with mental health concerns Recognizing the needs of individual students and the entire group and offering support and flexibility as needed. Working as part of a cooperative and diverse team of educators and administrators to carry out the goals of our District. Utilizing technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. Participating in professional development activities that are aligned with district and building goals, assigned subject content and the varied needs of students. What We Offer: As a contracted employee, Mental Health Therapist work 183 days per year with a possibility of 5 extended days and 7.25 hours per day. Starting salary is $47,760.00 with increases for additional education and experience. Contracted employees receive competitive benefits.
