Job Description :
The Merchandising Assistant is responsible for assisting Buyers & Assistant Buyers in the daily functions and processes of running given merchandise areas. This position provides Buyers and Assistant Buyers with administrative and operational support to optimize the buying processes. The Assistant will maintain the overall merchandising department information and serve as a liaison internally and externally regarding vendor and/or product data. The projected career path for a successful employee in this role would be a transition to Replenishment Analyst. This role is optimal for recent college graduates seeking an entry-level opportunity to launch a career in merchandising.Any offer for this role is contingent upon candidates providing proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or receiving a legally required exemption or accommodation prior to your start date.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintains accurate and updated records of weekly replenishment purchase orders. Reviews regularly with buyer and assistant buyer.Develops collaborative vendor relationships. Works with vendors to obtain necessary details for status of stock items.Ensures that all orders are emailed and orders details are confirmed with each vendor on a weekly basis.Tracks order and vendor shipping information to ensure on time delivery and problem solves for delivery issues.Orders and organizes samples for necessary internal meetings.Assists buyer & assistant buyer in pulling reports to analyze needs of the businessFor convenience businesses –approves purchase orders for perishable itemsOther duties as assignedPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Merchandising, Business Administration, or related area preferred1-3 year's experience in a similar position or with similar responsibilities preferredBasic Excel proficiency (data entry, tables, etc.)Demonstrates a strong career commitment and initiative to advance to the next levelExperience in actively participating and presenting ideas/opinions in department meetingsAbility to work efficiently in a highly team-orientated environmentAbility to manage multiple tasks, organize and prioritize workload, and complete work with a sense of urgency, accuracy, and follow-upStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAdapts easily and positively to change and demonstrates flexibilityStrong math aptitude and analytical skillsParadies Lagardere believes in paying for performance.
