Employment Status: Temporary/Part time POSTION SUMMARY: Shipping and receiving coordinator for all Museum Shop merchandise. This includes the shipping and counting of all merchandise for the Museum Shops, web shop and trade business. Ensure that all merchandise is accurately stocked and priced. Organize and maintain stock rooms and storage spaces. Execute general maintenance in the Museum Shop to include moving fixtures, light bulb replacement, changing merchandise displays and stocking merchandise. Work with Buyer and Merchandising Manager & Retail Coordinator to organize stock areas for annual inventory. Must be organized and efficient in completing tasks in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE: Through previous background and experience the candidate must demonstrate, with or without an accommodation, the ability to:
- Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with emphasis on company interests
- Basic math skills
- Move merchandise weighing 50 lbs or more
- Maneuver a palette jack and/or fork lift
- Strong organizational skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Facilitate the unloading, pricing and stocking of merchandise according to operational guidelines to ensure that the store is well stocked and that supply counts are accurate.
- Adhere to and promote established safety procedures. .
- Neat organizational skills are an absolute must.
- Participate in the completion of annual physical inventory counts.
- Special projects as assigned.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION: General instruction is provided on some, but not all, tasks to be performed and work is checked upon completion. In addition, non-routine tasks may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: High school diploma or its equivalent (GED) - applicant must be able to demonstrate basic math proficiency and above average communication skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: - The majority of job duties are conducted indoors, although merchandise shipments will require that an employee leave the museum briefly. Because this position requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise (up to 70 pounds or more, as necessary) and standing for long periods of time, there may be risk of injury resulting from improper procedures.
- In addition, employee may be required to perform stocking duties during non-store hours.
SCHEDULE: - The requested schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8-12. However, days and hours are flexible. Employee may be asked to work a 1 or 2 Saturdays when major exhibitions close in order to help keep shop(s) stocked.
CONTACTS: - In addition to contact with the general public at the store and at store-related events, contact with both High Museum and Woodruff Art Center departments and at the administrative offices involving the routine exchange of information may be a regular part of this job.
