Seeking a Merchandise Planner Manager for a large clothing company. This will be a W2 - 6 month assignment.
About the Job
- You will report to the Director of Merchandise Planning
- Help build department financial plans. Work to balance channel, brand, and business needs.
- Develop financial forecasts in-season and contribute to regular financial conversations with a diverse set of business partners. Help create a narrative and articulate risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with merchants to develop consumer and category segment productivity targets within an assortment architecture.
- Build and present bottom-up sales and inventory plans. Reconcile against the top-down financial plans to inform financial and inventory decisions.
- Align with planning leads and business partners to guide in-season tactical activities in execution of season strategies: promotional strategies, markdown management, etc.
- Work with allocation partners to ensure optimal in-season allocation, replenishment, consumption, and receipt flow.
- Manage in-season profitability to achieve or exceed goals and submissions.
- Identify opportunities in, and improve, processes and tools.
- Participate in additional projects that support channel and company plans.
About You
- Bachelor's degree: a combination of college education and related work experience may be used as a substitute
- 3+ years of planning experience
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with a diverse team both in person and hybrid
- Analytic abilities; can use analysis to help shape stories. Have a strong understanding of retail math, merchandising financials, and profitability KPIs.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets) and ability to learn new digital tools quickly.
- Experience with SAS merchandise planning is an asset.
