This is a full time, Salary exempt position.

**MAIN FUNCTION:**

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this an intermediate position within the North American AS&O group. This position will be responsible for procurement of raw materials to achieve optimum financial results. The position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with both external and internal customers, including the handling of logistics, accounting, and other customer related issues. The position requires a higher level of strategic thinking, market knowledge, trading acumen and employee development.

**KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:**

University degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance, accounting), supplemented with a minimum of three (3) years experience in commodity merchandising. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast-paced work environment. Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions. Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the domestic and international trade. Proven ability to manage effectively within a team based work environment. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers. Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software. Applications within a windows based operating environment. Individual must be committed to corporate ethics policies and safety programs.
