OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

This role is a hybrid of design and merchandising/co-creation with our suppliers. It would be a true design role for Furniture and a co-creation/merchandising role for Decor categories.

Position is responsible to design and develop inspiring and innovative new products within the aesthetic of The Pioneer Woman Brands. Designer to support seasonal concepts, market trends, and customer/business needs. Under the leadership of Brand Design Director, own the development process for each product from sketch to approval.

Responsible for design, styling, development, and selection of materials, finishes, and techniques for Hard Home Categories which may include: Home Decor, Seasonal and Decorative Accents, Tabletop Decor, Stationary and Hard Lines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Work closely with the Brand Design Director, translate trends and concepts into designs that respond to business needs for the relevant product category.

* Develop designs from initial concept through approval.

* Pull tears and assemble concepts.

* Ability to sketch and render technical illustrations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop designs and where applicable, 3D modeling.

* Present sketches and design to the leadership and broader group.

* Prepare product renderings, complete product specifications and CADs to hand off to Product Development counterpart.

* Partner in the development process through daily communication with PD team, sourcing and suppliers.

* Strong ability to merchandise assortment with volume driving designs as well as creating visually appealing collections.

* Creative ability in taking overall aesthetic direction and executing saleable product.

* Flexibility to deadlines demands, and seasonal schedules.

DETAILED ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Responsible for interpretation and execution of sample from sketch to finished product.

* Responsible for approval and review of aesthetic submissions and pre-production. This includes maintaining color and finish standards per category

* Must meet with PD team and suppliers at pass off to ensure design integrity is maintained

* Must have great design sensibility that marries back to aesthetic of the brand and must be proactive in bringing workable designs to the table.

* Diligent approach to workload, maintaining timely communication with internal and external teams.

* Travel as required making seasonal trend and product presentations to merchant and sourcing teams.

* Responsible for preparing and packaging all CADs, material/finish samples etc for presentations and supplier reference for above categories.

REQUIREMENTS:

* College degree in Industrial Design or related field.

* 5 years of design experience in Industrial Design and related CAD programs.

* Ability to design and sketch by hand and finalize renderings via Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.

* Must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Powerpoint.

* Knowledge and/or industry experience of Solidworks.

* Strong organizational, communication skills and follow-up.

* Self-motivated team player.

* Strong understanding of items at competition and new technologies and innovation pertaining to the above categories.
