Job Description :
A&L Foods has an immediate need for a part-time Merchandiser. The position will serve the State College Area/Penn State, PA region. You will be responsible for merchandising specialty foods and delivering superior in-store customer service at large retail grocery stores. The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented, motivated, and a self-starter. This is part-time position reporting to the Sales Manager. Work days may vary based on business needs. What You Will Be Doing:
  • Organize, rotate, and stock shelves during each store visit. Ensure all products are tagged, in their appropriate location and set to shelf standards.
  • Remove items that are out-of-code or not selling per customer guidelines.
  • Build displays and create themes to increase sales volume and support holiday/ special promotions.
  • Manage stores within assigned territory timely and efficiently.
  • Assists in placement of appropriate POS material to increase promotional effectiveness.
  • Maintain proficient product knowledge.
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned territory on a regular and frequent basis.
  • Other duties as needed/assigned.
What You Need:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and previous retail/grocery merchandising experience.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance required. Reliable transportation and ability to travel frequently throughout assigned territory.
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the customer; position may work variable hours.
  • Knowledge of proper product handling and ability to lift 50-75 pounds. Frequent stooping, bending, standing and kneeling.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, high volume environment.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
