Merchandising Trend Specialist Womens Apparel - Solomon Page : Job Details

We are hiring a Merchandising Trend Specialist in Apparel for a top fashion company in New York, New York. Role is temp to perm.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain client relationships through the delivery of notable information, business intelligence and overall guidance to support clients in achieving their objectives.
• Continuously and proactively review and analyze clients' existing needs and future opportunities
• Pre-market assortment development and in-market line review
• New product launch strategy
• Brand positioning
• Category based sales performance: Track shifts in category performance and analyze top selling styles
• Promotional strategies: Liaise with clients on developing product promotions, merchandising, and marketing concepts.
• New brand opportunities: Identify new and innovative brands for retail clients
• Pricing strategy
• Digital and e-commerce strategy
• Shop the market, analyzing product offering to assess relevance for specific client needs and objectives
• Build and maintain digital skillset in alignment with evolving industry best practices

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (Merchandising, Marketing or Business is preferred)
• 5+ years of industry experience in retail, fashion, wholesale and/or other relevant areas
• Expertise and prior experience in Women's Apparel is required; experience in juniors and/or contemporary is a plus
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and
• Excel
• Experience in and ability to build compelling PowerPoint decks
• Travel as needed to visit client locations, tradeshows, and retail trips
