Job Type Full-time Description Working closely with the Head of US Metadata, the US Metadata Specialist will manage Bloomsbury's end-to-end metadata process to ensure accurate and timely flow of title metadata to our distributor systems and retailers while ensuring the metadata framework coincides with company business policies and practices. Responsibilities

  • Manage the title's bibliographic data and structures to ensure the metadata process runs smoothly
  • Responsible for ensuring metadata integrity and enhancing best practices used by the metadata and editorial teams
  • Supervise metadata feed to Bloomsbury distributor systems and coordinate ONIX feed strategy updates with the IT department
  • Work with Bloomsbury's IT, Editorial, and Marketing departments and the distributor's team to implement processes to modernize metadata management and streamline workflows
  • Lead for the department's seasonal vital dates and schedules
  • Responsible for improving title searchability, optimizing metadata to enhance title online presentation, and overall metadata quality on retailer sites and Edelweiss
  • Oversee the metadata confirmation process in Bloomsbury and the distributor's systems
  • Manage cover images and key title reveals to US retailers
  • Assist the editorial and marketing teams with troubleshooting metadata queries
  • Create ad-hoc reporting as needed
Requirements Knowledge, qualifications, and experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Five years' experience in Publishing with at least two years of Metadata experience required
  • Knowledge of databases and flow of data between systems
  • Proficient/advanced working knowledge of ONIX, Edelweiss, Amazon Vendor Central, and Microsoft Office
  • Biblio experience a plus
  • High attention to detail and practical communication skills
  • Organized, structured approach to working with large amounts of data

  • Able to develop and sustain effective relationships internally and on behalf of the Company with external parties
  • Able to work accurately with detailed information and to ensure that practical tasks are effectively implemented
  • Able to identify and highlight potential obstacles in achieving objectives and propose solutions where appropriate
  • Possesses a high level of resilience and drive, able to be flexible and change direction as required
Location Candidates must reside in the NY tri-state area, and be able to work in person 2 days per week.
