Plant Metallurgist

Amotec is seeking a talented Plant Metallurgist to join a dynamic team at a leading steel manufacturer 2 hours Northwest of Omaha, NB. As a Plant Metallurgist specializing in heat treat operations, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical expertise to enhance operations, drive quality improvements, manage lab activities and ensure customer satisfaction.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize production parameters and enhance quality/development while
• Conducting metallurgical analyses to support product development, quality and manufacturing processes
• Oversee lab activities and personnel
• Assist in the development of new products and process enhancements
• Providing technical support to production teams and participating in process, quality, and cost improvements

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• BS in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or a related field
• Proven experience with metallurgical testing, metallography, heat treat and tensile testing
• Process Engineering experience is preferred
• A “get it done attitude” with the drive to advance into the Plant Quality Manager within 1-3 years
