What you'll be working on:Accurate reading and recording of meter consumptionProcess disconnection of service for non-paymentsCollection of overdue paymentsFollow appropriate steps in turning on/off of gas servicePerform periodic Class I and II meter changesCheck and perform fuel line pressure tests, pipe Class I and II meter sets and tie-in customer fuel linesCheck customer equipment for code compliance, safe operation and installationKnowledgeable and understanding of customer needs, concerns and expectationsInvestigate leak complaints and make situation safe or take appropriate action to make situation safeProperly use and maintain gas detection equipmentEnsures all orders are completed legibly, fully and accuratelyInvestigate high and low bill complaintsAdditional Responsibilities:Deliver personal contact notification during winter monthsInstall remote read devices on metersUnderstand PSC policies on termination of service and theft of serviceRecognize potential hazardous situationsCheck for proper meter and regulator functionKnowledgeable of NFPA 54 code, state and local codes and regulationsMaintains company vehicle, tools and equipmentPerform other duties as assigned Who you are:Basic principals of natural and propane gas and gas utilizing equipmentUse of assigned tools and instrumentsOperator Qualified for positionExcellent customer contact skillsConscientious work ethicValid Drivers LicenseMechanical AptitudeNormal level of visual and hearing ability and sense of smellBasic computer skillsWorking Conditions:Outside, customer premises and minimal office timeWorking around potentially flammable substancesAble to lift 20 to 50 lbs. on a regular basisAdverse weather conditions and dogsOn-call rotation to cover 24 hour response for gas leaksBenefits/what's in it for you:Flexible work arrangementCompetitive base salaryFantastic opportunities for career growthCooperative, supportive and empowered team atmosphereAnnual bonus and salary increase opportunitiesMonthly recognition eventsEndless wellness initiatives and community eventsRobust and customizable benefit packages-choose what works best with your life.
