Job Summary:The Manager of Recreation Services is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of membership services, fitness, and intramural activities for students, faculty, staff, and outside members. Key aspects of management include drop-in group fitness classes, formal intramural and group activities, and informal fitness opportunities.The successful candidate will contribute to Bucknell's commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
Job Duties:Program Development (40%)-Create, facilitate, and oversee a comprehensive drop-in group fitness class schedule and develop fitness offerings in the Kenneth G. Langone & Athletic Center (KLARC) -Assist in facilitation of intramurals and club sports for students.
Member Services (30%)-Coordinate marketing using social media, website, and other direct marketing resources and methods. -Work in collaboration with Human Resources on various faculty/staff fitness offerings as part of theUniversity's overall campus Wellness initiative.-Assist in the daily management of membership services; delegating and prioritizing administrativeresponsibilities. Ensuring mobile app is up to date with member offerings, as well as troubleshooting when appropriate.
Administrative Duties (30%)-Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate class instructors, front-desk monitors, and other applicable staff.-Develop and annually review recreation department policies and procedures, in conjunction with facilities and Department of Athletics.-Maintenance and inventory of fitness and recreational equipment.-Assist with the annual budget requirements and preparation to the Assistant Athletic Director ofRecreation Services and the University and be accountable for expense control compliance andadministration of the budget.-Be responsible for management, training and development of staff, including periodic staff meetings and annual performance evaluations.-Develop a positive working arrangement with all support offices both in the department and on campus(i.e. Athletics, Dean of Students, Human Resources, Admissions, etc.).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -Bachelors degree-Two years professional student recreation/fitness experience-Ability to instruct at least one genre of group fitness classes (i.e. Step Aerobics, Yoga, Kickboxing, Spinning, Pilates, etc)-Ability to work nights and weekends
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -Masters Degree Preferred-Current CPR/AED, First Aid certification upon employment-One nationally accredited fitness certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS-Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Salary Range:21.17-26.46The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy. This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
