Who We Are HII Mission Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Engineer Logistics 2 to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of logistics systems and processes. As part of a highly skilled team, you will work to ensure that our systems are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with mission-critical requirements. This role will require a balance of technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and an understanding of logistics practices within a defense technology- focused environment.
What You Will Do - Reviews field support requirements and recommends tool and test equipment.
- Establishes calibration requirements for field systems/equipment including all maintenance tasks.
- Performs maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers.
- Reviews handbooks for technical adequacy.
- Assists in the development of maintenance engineering and logistics support.
- Plans and contributes to proposal efforts.
- Ensures safe and healthy work environment in compliance with applicable local and federal regulations.
- Perform Ship Checks as required, to capture nameplate data and other information pertinent to Shipyard Automated Material History Card Database (AMHCD) Data Development.
- Responsible for data collection from reports and ship visits.
- Transcribe data into database maintain/update records.
- Assists in plans and review schedules to establish priorities for work activities in support of CVN RCOH Material History project.
- Draft and review RCOH Material History Work Packages.
- Identifies potential project risks to schedule or technical criteria.
- Engage with Customers (US Navy and NNS) in meetings and discussions to discuss ongoing work, coordination, and issues.
What You Must Have - 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
- Candidate must be familiar with Navy organizational structure, technical documentation requirements and be conversant in the terminology of marine equipment maintenance.
- Candidate must have experience with US Naval ships mechanical, electrical and/or structural components including modifications, installations, overhaul, and replacement and/or testing of mechanical, electrical and structural components.
- Candidate must have Steam, Nuclear, or Gas Turbine Main Propulsion systems experience.
- Candidate must have knowledge of Navy Technical Manuals
- Candidate must be a U.S Citizen
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain an Active DOD confidential security clearance.
Bonus Points For Having! - Ability to read and interpret design drawings, schematics, technical work documents, technical manuals, bills of material, and Navy parts lists, product specifications, and organize large volumes of highly technical source data.
- Prefer experience supporting US Navy ship maintenance availabilities in a shipyard environment, especially on (but not limited to) Aircraft Carriers, Amphibious Assault Ship hulls.
- Qualified Mechanical, Electrical system, plant Operator or Journeyman preferred. Prefer Machinist Mate (Nuke/Non-Nuke, and Auxiliary), Gas Turbine System Technician, Engineman, Electricians Mate (Nuke and Non-Nuke), Machinery Repairman, Hull Maintenance Technician, or Damage Controlman ratings.
- Experienced in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, SharePoint and Reliability Centered Maintenance
