NCE is a multi-disciplinary practice of Landscape Architects, Engineers and Environmental Scientists working collaboratively to create thoughtful, innovative and environmentally responsible design solutions. We are currently seeking a mid-level landscape architect to join our landscape studio in NCE's Oakland office. NCE's landscape studio is a growing practice that has an expanding body of work and is looking for individuals to actively participate in our growth. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a multi-disciplinary and studio environment, demonstrated leadership, a passion for design exploration and an ability to mentor junior staff. NCE's current work includes a broad array of projects within the public realm including Trails, Parks, Streetscapes, Green Infrastructure, Civic Centers, Higher Education, Healthcare and Institutional Facilities with over 200 public agencies across the western United States.
Working with us, you will:
- Lead projects performing project management duties including- monthly budgeting, scheduling, and general project administration, client interface and subconsultant management.
- Participate in or lead the ideation process, conduct design research and guide entry level landscape designers in the preparation of conceptual plans and visualizations.
- Work in collaborative teams of civil engineers, architects, planners and environmental scientists.
- Mentor entry level staff landscape designers.
- Assist or lead the preparation of construction documents, specifications and construction cost estimates.
- Assist with the preparation of RFQ's and RFP's, scopes of work and fee estimates.
- Visit construction sites to gather information, inform and support senior project team members during the construction phase.
Qualifications (Must Have):
- Bachelor's in landscape architecture from accredited institution
- Professional California Landscape Architect (if registered outside of California, a commitment of reciprocity will be required within 6 months of employment), and an active professional member of ASLA
- Proactive self-starter, with a positive attitude and ability to work in fast-paced and demanding conditions.
- Strong organizational skills, active team player, self-motivated, and has a proven ability to mentor, collaborate with and manage landscape design teammates.
- High level of proficiency in grading, planting, and material design, along with technical detailing of landscape architecture elements.
- Fluency in the English language, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additional languages are a bonus.
- Proficiency in ACAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Software.
- 5-10 years of professional experience through all phases of design, including construction
- Experience in preparing design development and construction documents and specifications, with attention to detail
- Project management, including coordination with consultants, clients, and internally, coordinating the work plan to maintain schedules, deliverables, and budgets
- Experience in marketing efforts, including the preparation of scopes of work, fee estimates and RFQ's.
Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- Familiarity with GIS, Rhino and Sketch-up. An understanding of BIM and Revit are desirable.
- Master's degree in Landscape Architecture

Salary range: $ 105,000-125,000 depending on experience
