The NYC Department of Transportation, Office of Safety Education (SEO) is seeking a Middle/High School Team Leader to head up a team of Safety Educators providing Vision Zero traffic safety education programs for students in Grades 6-12, teen and young adult drivers, and other at-risk populations, including adult drivers and New Yorkers with physical, cognitive, and language challenges, to help eliminate traffic fatalities and injuries.
The Middle/High School Team Leader will report directly to the SEO Director of Curricula and Program Planning and will assist with all aspects of planning school-based education programs. Responsibilities will include:
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
Preferred SkillsExperience teaching students in Grades K - 12 is preferred. Bi-lingual is a plus. A valid NYS driver's license is preferred.

Residency RequirementNew York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
