Middle and Upper School Substitute Teachers Westtown School seeks experienced substitute teachers for our Middle and Upper Schools. Qualified candidates should understand the cognitive and social-emotional development of students in grades 6 through 12 and be well-versed in interdisciplinarycurriculum, project work, and anti-bias curriculum. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education or a specific subject area or related field;
- 1-3 years of relevant classroom teaching experience;
- Demonstrated knowledge in teaching principles, theories, methods, classroom management techniques, and conflict resolution strategies;
- Understanding of the academic, social-emotional development of students in grades 6-12;
- Ability to provide a motivating and engaging learning environment;
- Familiarity with Google products and the integration of a learning management system, Canvas, into best teaching practices;
- A demonstrated commitment to enhancing an inclusive school community based on cultural competence, commitment to social justice, and respect for all voices;
- A strong character with a team-oriented spirit and the ability to connect meaningfully with students throughout our diverse community;
