The mission of the Instructional Coach will be to build the capacity at the school site in the areas of leadership, instruction, assessment, communication, collaboration and culture with a focus on increased student achievement for all students. They will provide job-embedded professional development and support to school leadership and teachers to build the capacity of the school in their progress towards improving the school and increasing student achievement. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Supporting and articulating the school's vision and mission; 2. Coaching/mentoring teachers to support school leadership in ensuring lessons and classroom activities provide a variety of instructional strategies and grouping practices that engage students and allow multiple pathways for students to master the state academic standards; 3. Modeling and demonstrate effective lessons for teachers to improve teaching practices; 4. Assisting teachers in using various types of data to inform instruction; 5. Participating and working cooperatively to facilitate data discussions and professional learning communities; 6. Supporting teachers to promote consistent, systematic, focused, and responsive monitoring of student progress; 7. Supporting school leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of school programs; 8. Assisting School Leadership in the development and on-going implementation of Professional Development opportunities for teachers; 9. Working cooperatively with school leadership in the implementation of Governing Board policies and procedures and administrative regulations; 10. Any other Duties as Assigned. Requirements 1. Master's Degree in Education preferred 2. Current Arizona Teaching Certificate 3. Five years teaching experience in a public school 4. Employed as a teacher in a public school within the last three years 5. Leadership roles in the areas of curriculum, instruction and teacher coaching 6. Two years experience as an instructional coach preferred 7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. 8.
