This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Maintenance function. This position will report to the plant Maintenance Supervisor.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Must be familiar with the operation, design and maintenance of all mechanical equipment in a chemical process plant including, but not limited to: pumps, fans, compressors, centrifuges, gear boxes, mixers/agitators, conveyors, rotary valves, and rotating equipmentMust demonstrate a commitment to safety as demonstrated by experience in leading or participating in company safety committees, or other safety related activitiesMust participate in continuing plant improvement activities and compliance with the plant safety programIn order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for the millwright job classification, or documented equivalent experience3-5 years experience working as a Journeyman millwright in a heavy industrial environmentExperience working as a multi-skilled mechanic able to perform expanded duties including pipefitting, welding, rigging etc.Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and navigate basic computer functions requiredApplicant must be authorized to work in the United States.Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time while repairing equipmentMust be able to work rotating shifts, holidays, and overtime as requiredMust be able to work outdoors for extended periodsMust be able to work at heightsMust be able to climb stairs carrying 50 lbs.The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:Welding certificationBasic or advanced rigging trainingAbility to use Microsoft Office applicationsWorking knowledge of laser alignmentExperience with using a CMMS such as SAP or MaximoExperience working in an OSHA PSM covered facilityIn more than 100 countries, the people of Ashland LLC.
