Journeyman License required *Candidates close to obtaining license can be consideredBase Pay: $35.71 COS (continuous operating schedule) differential: + $1.50/hr = $37.21 $2,000 retention bonus! with 2 year commitment - $1,000 after 90 days, $1,000 after one yearShift: 12hr rotating shifts including weekends and some holidays. **Double time on Sundays** - $74.42 on Sunday with the COS schedule TC Menasha is looking for a card holding Journeyman Millwright to join our Maintenance crew at the Menasha Plant. The Millwright crew conducts daily general maintenance activities to support printing, extrusion lamination and converting production departments. While receiving guidance from the Maintenance Manager and Crew Leader, they have some autonomy to complete assigned work. Millwrights should be able to dive into root cause analysis activities, recommend improvements in methods, and participate in continuous improvement team activities. The right candidate will also be a plant leader in following all safety policies and procedures. What you will do: Upholds all ethical standards associated with safety, quality and food safety policies and procedures within the facility, including the TC Transcontinental Code of Conduct and Values.
  • Complies with all the standards that are followed in the TC Menasha plant, including, but not limited to - Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), Continuous Improvement (CI) and any other processes established within the TC Menasha plant.
  • Take action on unsafe situations.
  • Troubleshoot on designated department machine centers
  • Participation and involvement in associated committees or activities is highly encouraged
  • Drive continuous improvement activities to help achieve plant goals and targets
  • Balance safety, quality, and productivity to achieve goals in all areas
  • Use the CMMS system to ensure compliance to policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure effective employee relations, including leading by example
  • Ensures best practices are communicated and followed up on
  • Provide training and coaching to apprentices and peers for performance and process improvement initiatives
  • Attend meetings such as work order back log, vendor/contractor opening and closing meetings
  • Review inventory and request resources (parts, tools, etc) for daily operations and projects
  • Monitor deckles, feed blocks and nip roll inventory to ensure readiness for upcoming changeovers
Expectations:
  • Maintain a work environment suitable for food packaging. This includes SQF requirements.
  • Maintaining acceptable levels of reground rolls for extrusion and other roll using departments.
  • Resurface aluminum core shafts by lathe grinding material off.
  • Fabricates piece parts and completely design and assemble/install elementary additions to equipment.
  • Maintaining floor and machine cleanliness in the machining and grinding areas.
  • Complete required documentation for SQF.
  • Be proactive in resolving quality of our parts and repairs.
  • Suggest ideas to improve the quality of our equipment and processes.
  • Quantify the accuracy and repeatability of machining work done by self and others.
  • Maintaining acceptable productivity to execute repairs and improvement projects for the plant equipment.
  • Initiates repairs on machine components requiring reconditioning or modifications.
  • Advises and executes mechanical work as assigned.
  • Specifies and orders mechanical supplies and materials for work.
  • Perform periodic checks and inspections on plant equipment.
  • Assure proper orientation to all new or transferred employees as required.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with changing shifts to ensure limited disruption of maintenance activity.
  • Complete the required equipment inspections assuring safe and reliable operation of machining equipment.
  • Use the CMMS system for managing work orders and backlog/documentation.
  • Complete daily timesheets with detailed information of work performed
  • Other tasks as assigned
Working Conditions:
  • This job operates in a manufacturing environment
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear
  • Physical demands include walking/standing/reaching, bending for extended periods of time
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas verbally and in writing and perceiving the nature of sounds by the ear
  • Physical strengths include lifting a maximum of 50 pounds, or 100 pounds - 2 man lift
  • Vision requirements include the ability to see clearly at twenty inches or less and free of colorblindness
  • Ability to work in areas with the following conditions; high noise levels, solvent fumes common in the printing industry and medium heat
  • Overtime and covering of partner vacations and other vacancies will be required
What you have to offer
  • Ability to work a 12hr rotating shift (6a-6p and 6p-6a)
  • Must possess a Journeyman Millwright Card; Technical Degree with at least four years of on-the-job training
  • Experience with Flexo Printing, Extrusion lamination and/or converting equipment a plus
  • Possess communication skills and be familiar with computer concepts

  • Must be willing to complete a pre-employment background and reference check, physical and drug screen.
  • Must be able to distinguish color.
