Job DescriptionGeneral Dynamics Land Systems is a global leader in the design, development, production, support and sustainment of tracked and wheeled military equipment, specifically the Abrams Main Battle Tank and the Stryker Family of Wheeled Combat Vehicles. Prepares items for painting, mixes paints according to paint thinning guidelines, and paints component parts and equipment using paint pot and air paint spray gun in a team environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:A maintenance mechanic who rigs, installs, services, moves and dismantles equipment and machinery and performs such other work as not specifically designated under other maintenance classifications. Includes moving and locating machines and equipment according to floor plans; installing, rearranging and removing overhead line shafting, mechanical handling systems, hoists, etc.Use such tools and equipment as drill presses, power saws, chain falls, jacks, skids, slings, burning torches, and other types of portable and hand tools. When required, should be able to plan, layout and complete work with a minimum of supervision. May be assisted by helpers.Welding and print reading is required.May also be required to handle/manage hazardous waste from time to time.Background Requirements:High School Diploma or GEDTwo years minimum related experience preferredMust be a US Citizen Welding and print reading is required.Must be willing to work overtime on an as-needed basis to maintain production deadlines.The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
