Mine Maintenance Helper ($26.15/hr) - Capstone Copper : Job Details

We work a seven on seven off work schedule. Some positions are straight days and some are shift positions which are seven on seven off including 7 nights in a row once a month. Overtime is available with Superintendent/Manager approval.

About the Role

Reporting to the Supervisor Mobile Maintenance, the Helper Mechanic will safely perform all related tasks with a Mine Mechanic Mentor.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

* Along with a Mechanic, install, remove, replace, adjust and repair hydraulic hoses, filters, and other components associated with equipment lubrication as needed.

* Safely and efficiently execute the requirements of the program in order to learn how to maximize the life and availability of equipment and reduce costs to eventually become Journeyman status Mechanic.

* Learn various policies and procedures (i.e. LOTOTO)

* Safely operate and maintain vehicles and equipment.

* Properly contain, clean up, and promptly report spillage along with general housekeeping duties.

* Conduct and record various checklists.

* Assist mechanics and perform other duties as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

* Must be able to successfully pass Math and Language skills test.

* Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English.

* High school diploma or GED.

* CDL with Hazmat endorsement a plus

* Familiarity with Mine Mobile equipment is a plus

* WORK ENVIRONMENT

* Work in different environments including the shop and out in the field

* Must be able to sit or stand for up to an hour at a time and lift up to 50 pounds.
